4' flood cut with set equipment

Flood Cuts

During a storm event, water can flood a home only a few feet.  However, just because the water only touches the walls a few feet up, that doesn't mean that is the only area affected.  Water will wick up a wall and reach much further than one would think.  This photo shows a room after our team had performed "flood cuts."  They probe the walls to see where the moisture stops and then cut 2 feet above that, to ensure that there is no chance for microbial growth to occur.  We then dry the studs and area behind where the sheet rock once was.
